What fusha means, and what Fusha does.
Fuṣḥā (الفُصْحَى) is the clear, standard Arabic of the Quran, of books and of the news. The app is named after it and built around three things.
Look it up
Type a word in Arabic or English, with or without harakat, or the conjugated form you just read. Fusha finds the word a dictionary files it under, so you do not have to.
Understand it
Every word becomes a full card: vocalised spelling, root and word family, meanings, grammar notes, an example sentence and a short explanation in Arabic.
Keep it
What you look up comes back in a few minutes of practice a day, timed so you see each word again just before you would forget it.

Fusha is an Arabic vocabulary app for iPhone and Android. You look up a word in Arabic or English, with or without harakat, and get a full card: the vocalised spelling, the root and its word family, meanings with the grammar worth knowing, and a translated example sentence. Every word you look up is saved and comes back in short daily practice, spaced so that you see it again just before you would forget it.
Which Arabic does Fusha teach?
Fusha, the standard Arabic of the Quran, of books and of the news, also called Modern Standard Arabic. Not a spoken dialect: fusha is understood in every Arabic-speaking country, and it is the Arabic you need to read.
Is Fusha free?
Yes. Fusha is free to download and fully usable without paying: every feature works on the free plan. There is a monthly limit on how many new words you can look up and how many photos of word lists you can import. Looking up a word that is already in Fusha does not count. Fusha Plus is an optional subscription that raises those limits and unlocks nothing else.
Is it good for learning Quran Arabic?
That is what it was built for. Every word is shown with full harakat, search forgives a bare alif where the text has a hamza, and the Understanding the Quran course works through the most frequent words of the Quran first, so early effort pays off in verses you recognise.
Which languages does the app speak?
English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish and Russian. Both the app and the explanations on your word cards come in your language.
How are the word cards made?
Cards are generated with AI and shared between learners: a word is made once and loads instantly for everyone after. Every card has a report button, and anything reported is checked by a person.
