From a word you meet to a word you know.
Fusha is a dictionary, a notebook and a practice routine in one app. You look a word up, Fusha explains it and keeps it, and then it helps you remember it.
Look it up
Type the word the way you met it: in Arabic script, in English, or spelled out the way it sounds. Harakat are optional, and so is the exact spelling of hamza and alif. A conjugated verb or a plural leads you back to the word it comes from. Have a whole list on paper? Take a photo and import the words in one go.
Read the card
Every word opens as a full card: the vocalised spelling, the root and its word family, the meanings with the grammar worth knowing, synonyms, a translated example sentence and a short explanation in Arabic. The word is saved to your collection straight away and sorted into a category.
Practise a little every day
Each day Fusha puts together a short review from the words that are due, weighted towards the ones you find hard. Get a word right and the gap before you see it again grows. Get it wrong and it comes back sooner. Ten minutes a day is enough to keep up.
What you do with Fusha.

More than a translation.
"Kitab means book" is a flashcard, not knowledge. A Fusha card gives you the word the way Arabic actually carries it.
- Vocalised spelling
- Full harakat and a transliteration, so the pronunciation is never a guess.
- Root and family
- The three root letters and related words, so one lookup teaches you several.
- Meanings and grammar
- Gender, plural, verb form and the notes that save you trouble later.
- Example sentence
- The word in a real sentence, with a translation.
- Explanation in Arabic
- A short definition in simple Arabic: reading practice inside a dictionary entry.
- Report button
- Cards are generated with AI. If one looks wrong, report it and a person checks it.
Four ways to practise, both directions.
Recognising a word is easier than producing it. Fusha asks for both: from Arabic into your language, and from your language back into Arabic.
Flashcards
Flip the card and say how well you knew it. Quick, and good for a first pass.
Fill the gap
A sentence with one word missing. You fill in the word that belongs there.
Type it yourself
Type the word from memory and Fusha checks it. The hardest mode, and the one that sticks.
Mix
Flipping, sentence gaps and typing in one session, so you never settle into a pattern.
Your words, on every device.
One account keeps your collection, your decks and your progress in sync. Switch phones and everything is still there.
- Works offline
- Every word you have looked up stays available without a connection. Only a brand-new lookup needs the internet.
- In your language
- The app and the explanations on your cards come in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish and Russian.
- iPhone and Android
- The same app on both, with the same account.
- Shared cards
- A word is generated once and then loads instantly for every learner after you.
