Delete your Fusha account

You can do this yourself, from inside the app, in under a minute. No email, no waiting for us to get round to it.

In the app

Open Fusha and sign in.
Go to Settings — the gear icon on your profile.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
Type your email address to confirm, then tap Delete permanently.

That is it. The account is gone immediately, and you are signed out. We ask you to type your address because this cannot be undone and a plain "are you sure?" is too easy to tap past.

If you cannot get into the app

Lost your phone, uninstalled it, or cannot sign in? Email [email protected] from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm within a few days and no later than a month, which is what the GDPR allows us.

We will ask you to confirm from that address, because otherwise anyone who knows your email could delete your account.

What gets deleted

Your account and email address
Every word you saved, every deck, and all your progress
Your practice sessions and the answers you gave
Your settings, and any word lists you scanned from a photo
Your entry on the waiting list, if you were ever on it

All of it goes at once, from the live database. Our backups roll over within 30 days, so that is the outer limit before the last copy is gone.

What stays, and why

The shared word list. When you look up a word Fusha has not seen before, the card it builds is kept so the next person does not have to pay for the same lookup. Those cards are dictionary content — a word, its translation, an example sentence. They carry nothing about who asked for them, so once your account is gone there is no way to tell your lookups from anyone else's. They are not personal data, and they stay.

Records of purchases. If you ever bought a subscription, Dutch tax law requires us to keep the invoice for seven years. That record holds the transaction, not your word list.

Deleting some of it instead

You do not have to go all-or-nothing. You can delete individual words and decks in the app at any time, and that removes them from our side too at the next sync. If you want something specific removed and cannot find how, write to [email protected].
